Cheesy Potato Casserole With Corn Flakes | Classic Side Dishes | Cooking Up Love

Our Cheesy Potato Casserole With Corn Flakes recipe is a classic casserole that's a favorite side dish for family meals, holiday dinners, and BBQs. They’re rich, buttery and cheesy with a nice little crispy crunch on top. This cheesy potato casserole with corn flakes is comfort food at it’s best! And you can make it ahead of time, so it’s perfect for serving at all of your holiday dinners, bbqs and potlucks!

Cheesy Potato Casserole With Corn Flakes Ingredients
5 - 6 russet potatoes
2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
6 tablespoons butter, melted
1 10.75 oz can cream of chicken soup
2 cups sour cream
2 - 3 green onions, finely chopped (optional)
salt and pepper to taste
1 1/2 - 2 cups corn flake cereal, crushed

Cheesy Potato Casserole With Corn Flakes Instructions
Wash 5 - 6 russet potatoes. Add to a large pot and cover with cool water. Bring the pot to a boil and cook over medium high heat for about 20 minutes, until the potatoes cooked through. Starting the cook with cool water will insure the potatoes cook evenly, rather than the outside cooking faster than the inside.

The potatoes should be soft enough to easily insert a knife into the largest potato. We want potato cubes that are soft and tender, but that won't fall apart into mush. When the potatoes are done, drain and set aside to cool.

While they're cooling, shred about 2 cups of sharp cheddar cheese and melt 6 tablespoons of butter. Combine the can of cream of chicken soup with 2 cups of sour cream. Add the 2 cups of shredded cheese. And if you're using the green onions, add them now. Stir everything all together and mix well.

Next, peel and chop the potatoes into about 1 inch pieces, adding them directly into the mixture. You can also use a grater to shred the potatoes or use defrosted frozen hash browns to get this dish into the oven even faster.

Fold the potatoes into the mixture, and salt and pepper to taste. Spread the mixture into a 13x9 inch baking dish. Drizzle with the melted butter. Then, crush the corn flakes over the top of the cheesy potato casserole. Bake in a 350 degree oven for about 40 - 45 minutes until it's golden brown and bubbly around the edges. Top with fresh chives and serve!

Cheesy Potato Casserole With Corn Flakes Make Ahead Instructions
This is one of those casseroles that can be prepared ahead of time, so on those hectic holiday dinner days it's one less dish you have to worry about prepping. Just make the recipe up to the point where you've drizzled butter across the top. Cover and refrigerate overnight. When you're ready to bake, remove it from the fridge and let it come up to room temperature. Top with the crushed corn flakes and bake in a 350 degree oven for 40 - 45 minutes.

캐서롤은 다양한 재료들을 그라탕, 찜처럼
만들어 먹는 미국가정식이에요.
넣는 재료들을 내마음대로 다양하게 할 수
있어서 냉털하기에도 참 좋은 요리랍니다.♥️

‍ 캐서롤레시피
1.슈레드해쉬브라운이랑 볶은 양파 , 삶은 마카로니, 다진 할라피뇨 , 체다치즈를 잘 섞어서 그라탕 그릇에 담으세요.
2. 사워크림 , 크림스프통조림 5:5 로 섞고 후추 소금살짝 넣어
소스를 만들어서 재료들과 잘 섞어주세요.
3. 윗부분에 모짜렐라 치즈를 올리고 오븐에 구워주세요.
(화씨370도 30분 , 섭씨180도 30분)
4.잘 구워진 캐서롤 위에 파슬리 살짝 뿌려주고 퍼묵퍼묵

Spicy Mac and Cheese
1/2 cup sun dried tomatoes, thinly sliced
2 1/2 cups broccoli florets
1 1/2 cups elbow macaroni
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
1/3 cup green onions, sliced, green parts only
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons cayenne pepper
1 1/2 teaspoons dried basil
1 teaspoon salt, plus more to taste
1 3/4 cup whole milk
6 oz. sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
4 oz. gruyere cheese, shredded
4 oz. gouda cheese, shredded

Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees.
Bring a large pot of water to a boil and salt generously. Scoop out 1 cup of hot water and pour into a bowl, add in sun dried tomatoes and let stand 10 minutes or until softened.

To the pot of boiling water, add broccoli florets and cook 3 minutes, remove florets and set aside. In the same boiling water cook pasta, strain and add to broccoli.

In a saucepan melt butter over medium heat. Add green onions and sauté until softened, 4 minutes. Stir in the flour, cayenne pepper, basil and 1 teaspoon salt and cook until flour is absorbed by the butter and forms a paste. Pour in milk and whisk until thickened. Sprinkle in half of the cheddar and all of the gruyere and gouda and stir until melted. Remove saucepan from heat and add in the reserved broccoli, pasta and strained sun dried tomatoes. Stir to combine and season with salt to taste. Transfer mac and cheese to an 8 x 8 casserole dish and sprinkle the remaining cheddar cheese over the top. Bake for 30 minutes until bubbly and heated through.
